Consumers should be able to easily choose the checking account that best meets their needs. Unfortunately, current disclosures are long, dense, and full of legalese. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is mandated to make consumer financial products transparent. Sign the petition and ask CFPB to write new rules ensuring that banks disclose the terms, conditions and fees associated with their checking accounts in a simple and easy-to-understand format.
Take Action: Urge the CFPB to act immediately to protect consumers and to prevent financial institutions from engaging in unfair, deceptive or abusive overdraft practices.
